A suspect on the run in Volusia County is behind bars thanks to a group of horses that chased him from their pasture.
The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office helicopter was following the suspect as he ran away from deputies on the ground early Thursday morning.
An infrared video camera in the helicopter recorded the suspect as he drove away from deputies, then hid the car in a backyard and walked away. The suspect then ran through a neighborhood and eventually wound up running into a pasture.
Video shows three horses run after the man. He jumped a fence trying to get away from them.
Deputies caught the man and arrested him. He was charged with two counts of fleeing and attempting to elude, resisting without violence, driving while license suspended, and violation of probation on a previous charge of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer.
So cool! The video is a little hard to make out at times because it was shot at night using an infrared camera, but you can clearly see the suspect, his car, and the horses!
