FINALLY: Science determines that coffee is GOOD for you!

For those of us who consume coffee on a daily basis (my hand is raised), we're always being told "that stuff will kill you." At least I am. If I had a dollar for every time someone has said, "Have you thought about cutting back?" I'd be a wealthy woman.

Well, science has officially confirmed that coffee IS GOOD FOR YOU! Take THAT, haters!

A study revealed that daily coffee consumption helps prevent neurological diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease! And the even better news is that it doesn't matter if the coffee is regular or decaf (side note: decaf drinkers, help me out here. Why do you drink decaf? Coffee is delicious, but most of us drink it for the caffeine boost...what gives? Do you just like being tired? Do you like yawning at 2pm when you're in a post-lunch food coma with three more hours to go at work? Explain yourselves!).

This is thanks to a group of compounds known as phenylindanes, which emerge as a result of the roasting process for coffee beans. Phenylindanes are unique in that they are the only compound investigated in the study that prevent - or rather, inhibit - both beta amyloid and tau, two protein fragments common in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, from clumping.

That's sciency talk for DRINK UP, CHUCKLEHEADS!

The voice in that video is like a weird British male Siri. It's oddly fascinating.
