Manatee County Fair Hosting ‘Flavors of our Fair’ Event, Next Two Weekends
COVID-19 has hurt many businesses and industries, especially along the suncoast. One area impacted is the the fair concessionaire business. Many that work in that business has been out of work since March of 2020.
To try and help that industry, the Manatee County Fair has scheduled the “Flavors of our Fair” food truck fest this weekend, Friday, October. 16th through Sunday, October 18th, as well as next weekend, Friday, October. 23rd through Sunday, October 25th.
The time for the Friday and Saturday events are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and the Sunday event will run between 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
There is no charge for entry to the event, and the festival will take place at the Manatee County Fairgrounds in Palmetto, located at 1402 14th Ave. West.
To keep everyone safe. People will be able to purchase fair food through a drive-thru or walk-up setting. For those who are planning to participate and be on-site, picnic tables are set up and they are also spaced in accordance to safe social distancing guidelines. Hand sanitizer stations will also be on site. .
Patrons will be directed to enter through Gate 8. Drive-thru customers will be directed to the vendors to order and pick up their food.
Your favorite fair food will be available, from: funnel cakes, corndogs, elephant ears, pizza, ice cream, cotton candy and candy apples.
In terms of the actual Manatee County Fair, which is now only a few months away. The Fair, is still planning to host the 105th Manatee County Fair from January 14th-24th, 2021.
The Manatee County Fair has a long, long history that goes all the way back to 1916. There were several years during World War II, as the last time the Manatee County Fair was canceled.
