Kentucky Mailman Saves Life of Elderly Woman on His Daily Mail Route

Kentucky Mailman Karl Herklotz walked up to a house on Rossmore Avenue this past Monday (9/28/20), in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. As he opened the mail box and placed the mail inside, he had a feeling that something was wrong. Karl has been the mailman in this same neighborhood, for 8 years. He knows the people and they know him, including people and their routines.

That particular mailbox belongs to an 84-year-old woman, What gave him an uneasy feeling? he problem? Her mailbox was full.

Karl a short time later, ran into neighbor Katie Giancola and he suggested she might want to check on her… She then called the police to come do a welfare check on the residence.

There was a problem. The 84-year old had fallen a few days prior and couldn't get up. fell and broke her hip and she couldn't get up.

The woman is now recovering and doing better, in the hospital.

The neighbors say Mailman Karl is a hero for saving her life.
