No Yard Waste Pick-Up in Sarasota County, No Recycling Pick-Up in Bradenton....

Sarasota County

Effective Monday, July 20, Sarasota County will be temporarily suspending curbside collections for yard waste in unincorporated Sarasota County for up to three weeks due to the impacts of COVID-19 being experienced by Waste Management staffing.

Sarasota County Residents can dispose yard waste at the Central County Landfill during operating hours, standard disposal fees will apply.

Central County Solid Waste Disposal Complex (Landfill)

4000 Knights Trail Road, Nokomis

Administration Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Landfill and C&D Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Landfill and C&D Saturday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.

Curbside garbage and recycling collection will continue to run with no changes in service.

City of Bradenton

The City of Bradenton has extended their temporary pause on recycling pickup's for another week due to the number of workers awaiting test results for COVID-19.

This temporary suspension of recycling pick up's, first started on Friday, July 10th and has now been extended to last through this Friday, July 24th,

There are still several employees in the Solid Waste Division who are quarantined, said Public Works Director Jim McLellan.

As the department remains understaffed, McLellan said the city will focus on garbage and yard waste pickup operations.
