Sarasota City leaders voted 4-1 Monday night (5-18-20) to reopen Lido beach, whoch has been shut down for over 2 months amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

People are asked to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, including keeping 6-feet of distance from other people, in an ongoing effort to stop the virus' spread.

Sarasota City Manager Tom Barwin said extra staff will likely be assigned to Lido Beach this holiday weekend to monitor social distancing.
