FDOT is limiting the on-demand openings for boat traffic to ONLY 10am, 2pm, and 6pm. If boats are not present at those times, there are no bridge openings.
There are no scheduled full bridge closures at this time
ONLY 10am, 2pm, and 6pm are scheduled bridge opening times to allow boat traffic to get through.
The scheduled openings are during ½-hour windows starting at those times for mariners to get through, but will only open on-demand during those ½-hour intervals. All other times, the bridge is down to allow vehicular traffic and construction to take place. This operation will be in place for the duration of the project.
Vehicles should be aware, closures could last up to 30 minutes, at 10am, 2pm and 6pm - each day - if boat traffic warrants....
If emergency vehicle rolls up to the bridge while bridge is up at these times, the construction team/tender will work to lower the bridge to let the emergency vehicle through.
