Jeopardy!contestant Dhruv Gaur's act of kindness during Monday night’s show nearly brought host Alex Trebek to tears,Peoplereports. In the show's Final Jeopardy round, Guar answered the final question by writing "What is we love you Alex," which cost him most of his remaining $2,000. "That's very kind, thank you" a visibly emotional Trebek said in response. Guar later addressed his move on Twitter, saying that Trebek had just told all the contestants that he'd re-entered treatment for pancreatic cancer. “We were all hurting for him so badly,” Gaur wrote. “When Final Jeopardy came up, I could’ve tried to puzzle it together, but really, just kept thinking about Alex, and thought he should know. I’m just very grateful I got the opportunity to say what I know everyone was thinking. Sending all the love. #weloveyoualex.” Trebek told CTV in October that he will continue to host the show while in treatment, "as long as my skills do not diminish, and they have started to diminish."
