For over a year, Crystal Lachance has been walking over three miles each way to work at a KFC in Salem, Oregon.
The single mom has been trying to save up for a car and her friend and manager, Miranda Marston, saw her struggling and found a way to help.
Marston nominated Crystal for a wish-granting initiative,Kentucky Fried Wishes, that helps KFC employees “get an education, in crisis situations, and with personal finance.” And they just surprised Crystal with her own much-needed wheels. Now she won’t have to spend an hour walking to work and another hour to get home and she’ll have more time with her son.
“Now that I have a car, there’s just so much more I can do,” Crystal says. “I feel so blessed.”
