Eric Camarillo knew he’d found the woman he wants to spend the rest of his life with and he made a transcontinental journey to pop the question.The lady in question? Admelyz Bueno– they apparently met when she started volunteering for his nonprofit,SALT outreachin 2016. While she’s been taking part in a study abroad program in Greece, that distance was nothing when it comes to love.
She was returning to her dorm room in Athens when the epic surprise proposal began. She had no idea her boyfriend came from Orlando to see her, but it all started to become clear after someone handed her an iPad with a video Camarillo recorded. “Hey Admelyz, you’re probably very confused,” he says in the video, which shows his trip from Florida to Greece. And at the end, he tells her, “I can’t wait to see you, so come to the roof.”
When she made her way to her dorm’s roof, Camarillo was waiting for her and she jumped into his arms. He asked her to marry him, and she said “yes,” giving a happy ending to his elaborate proposal that was 5,500 miles in the making.
The delighted future-groom explains, “When I saw her all the tension that had built up just kind of disappeared and was replaced with this overwhelming sense of happiness and relief.”
