Reality singing competitions seem to have become a go-to place for aspiring country music singers. With that in mind, One Country has compiled a list of 10 country stars who got their start on television. 

Oklahoma native Carrie Underwood made her debut on season 4 of American Idol, which she won.

After appearing on season one of the TV reality series Nashville Star, Miranda Lambert got the platform she needed to break into country music.

Chris Young was 21 years old in 2006 when he won the fourth season of Nashville Star.

Scotty McCreery took home the title in season 10 of American Idol, beating out fellow country artist Lauren Alaina. 

Although she didn’t win Idol, Lauren Alaina caught the eye of Nashville and record label Mercury Nashville.

Kellie Pickler finished sixth in season 5 of Idol and headed to Nashville--where she signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/BNA Records.

In 2007, Kacie Musgraves appeared on season 5 of Nashville Star.

RaeLynn was eliminated in the quarterfinals of The Voice’ssecond season in 2012. 

Cassadee Pope became the first female winner of The Voice, and second winner for Team Blake, on season three. 

Danielle Bradbery was introduced to the country music world when she became the winner of season 4 of The Voice in 2013.
