Man Arrested for Threatening Charlotte County Sheriff's Office on 911 Calls

Port Charlotte, FL - A 52-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly making a series of threatening calls to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) on Tuesday.

According to CCSO, Michael Minnuci calls included violent threats towards dispatchers, supervisors, and even Sheriff Bill Prummell himself.

The calls reportedly included statements like "I'm going to light you on fire" and "I want them beheaded."

Minnuci allegedly insisted these were not threats, but "facts."

CCSO reports indicate Minnuci's phone number was flagged in their system from previous incidents.

Dispatch was able to locate him at an intersection in Port Charlotte.

Despite initially denying the calls, Minnuci later admitted to contacting 911, though he claims it was solely to inquire about legal advice.

Minnuci has been charged with misuse of a 911 or E911 system.
