The seven House impeachment managers include a Floridian

A Floridian will be right in the middle of the U-S Senate trial of President Trump expected to begin next week in Washington.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi named Orlando area Congresswoman Val Demings to be one of the seven House Democrats who will serve as impeachment managers.

Demings and the others will try to make the case that President Trump should be removed from office for allegedly withholding military aid to Ukraine to pressure that country's president to investigate Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

"Ms. Demings, serving her second term in Congress," Pelosi said. "Before Congress, Ms. Demings served as (in) the Orlando Police Department for 27 years, part of that time as the first woman police chief in Orlando."

"I've enforced the laws and now I write the laws," Demings said last month, "and I know that nobody is above the law."

Demings is a member of both the House Judiciary and Intelligence committees.
