Break Out the Ponchos! Soggy Weather Expected for Bucs-Dolphins Game

TAMPA -- Friday's preseason game between the Miami Dolphins and the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa could be a soggy matchup.

Forecasters say weather patterns are on track to bring rain through Tampa before and during the game.

Meteorologist Tony Hurt with the National Weather Service says a flood watch for the Tampa Bay area has been extended through Friday night and fans going to the game should be ready to deal with standing water and potential street flooding.

The entire Tampa Bay area is under the flood watch, but areas north of Tampa, along the Nature Coast (Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Levy) and up into the Big Bend region near Tallahassee, are on track to get the most rainfall over the next few days... with some areas near the mouth of the Suwannee River predicted to see as much as seven inches over the next few days.
