Good News/Bad News In New South Florida Teen Sexting Study

The news is mixed when it comes to a new South Florida study on teens and sexting. The good news -sexting is not at epidemic levels. The bad news, teen sexting isn't decreasing either. Florida Atlantic University's Dr. Sameer Hinduja says the study of 55-thousand middle and high school students finds about 13-percent of them admit to sending a nude to someone else and 19-percent admit to receiving one. He says 63-percent of the students-ages 12-to-17--who were asked by a boyfriend or girlfriend to send a sext did it. Only 43-percent complied when asked by someone other than a romantic partner. Technically-all teens who sext are involved in child pornography since they are underage.
