Driver Behind Bars After Hit-And-Run Of Bicyclist In Miami-Dade

A man is behind bars facing a slew of charges after a bicyclist is killed in a hit-and-run in Miami-Dade. It happened early this morning in the southbound lanes of U-S 1 near Southwest 260th Street. Witnesses saying they saw a white Chevy sedan hit the bicyclist who was trying to cross U-S 1. He continued driving but was stopped by Miami-Dade police near Southwest 296th Street. Florida Highway Patrol trooper Joe Sanchez says 33-year-old Nelson Rodriguez faces several charges including DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. The victim hasn't been identified yet.
