Boy donates birthday money to fire charity

In Baltimore, Maryland, Gael Griffith celebrated his fourth birthday with a firefighter-themed party. But instead of having his friends buy him toys for gifts, he requested that guests bring a donation for actual firefighters in the community.

Gael’s party was a big success and -- with the help of his parents -- he was able to deliver $270 to a local fire station, where he met the station chief.

Gael’s mom, Tania, explained that her son has always wanted to visit the station and was thrilled that the firefighters invited him in.

Thanks to his appreciation for the firefighters, Gael will have memories that will last a lifetime.

And, thanks to his generous spirit, the money collected at his party will go to the Baltimore City Fire Foundation, which helps injured firefighters and their families.
