The top cruise destinations in the world

Going on a cruise is a popular vacation for a lot of folks, and it’s easy to see why. I mean who wouldn’t want to sail to a destination on a ship with more activities and food than you can possibly imagine? But while some people go on cruises just for the ship, where that ship is traveling to is also important for a lot of folks.

Cruise Critic has just come out with their annual Cruisers' Choice Destination Awards, naming the world's most popular cruise destinations, based entirely on consumer ratings. The awards rank the top destinations across 18 regions worldwide.

According to the site, the most popular cruise destination overall is the French city of Avignon, which also tops the list for top European River Cruise Destination. Glacier Bay, Alaska, a previous overall winner, was named Best Destination in Alaska, while King’s Warf in Bermuda earned honors for Best Eastern Caribbean, Bahamas and Bermuda Cruise Destinatiom. Other winners include: Bonaire, Best Southern Caribbean Destination and Disney Cruise Line's Castaway Cay, winner of Best Cruise Line Private Island.
