A Texas couple is planning on tying the knot in a New Year's Eve wedding, but practiced exchanging their vows last week in a hospital room so that the groom's 100-year-old grandmother could be at their wedding.
Sky Howard and Clay Cameron got all dressed up and held a mock wedding ceremony for Clay's grandmother, Charlotte Bussard, in her hospital room.
Sky explained, "She’s the matriarch of that family. Her health declined pretty rapidly and she was put in hospice. That worried us. We didn’t want her to miss that moment.”
A doctor at the hospital, who is also a personal friend of the couple, officiated the wedding, which wasn't actually official.
