Scout donates 1,000 stuffed animals to police department


In his effort to become an Eagle Scout, 17-year-old Elliot Helmer of St. Paul, Minnesota, chose a community service project that involved collecting stuffed animals and donating them to the police department, so officers could hand them out to children in rough situations.

When he started in February, he didn’t even have a goal. He just wanted to inspire as many people as possible to donate their stuffed animals to this worthy cause.The response was overwhelming.
