Dustin Lynch Is The Grand Ole Opry's Newest Member

Dustin Lynch left The Grand Ole Opry stage tear stained on Tuesday night after being inducted as an official member by his favorite female entertainer, Reba McEntire.

September 18th 2018 will be a date that Dustin Lynch will always remember. Lynch took to the Opry stage to play his 4-song set list. After his final number was complete, McEntire surprised him on stage saying, “I know how you feel. Do you know that 41 years ago yesterday, was the first time I got to sing on this stage? Sept. 17th 1977 and here you are 41 years and one day and you get to the newest member of The Grand Ole Opry. We’re paving the way like Minnie, Roy, Porter, and all the greats before us paved the way for us. Congratulations and welcome to one of the best families in the world.”

Lynch’s face lit up and his eyes watered. Before Lynch would begin his acceptance speech, he asked for permission to share the special moment with his band. Lynch also shared some family genetic information. Turns out, he gets his blue eyes from his father. “I told everybody before I came out here I’m a crybaby, and I get it from my dad.”

Proving to have talent and heart, Lynch sincerely thanked his friends, family, bandmembers, and supporters for sharing his dreams.
