Eric Church Drops 'Never Break Heart' From New Album 'Heart & Soul'

Eric Church's Heart & Soul is set for release throughout mid-April and the latest offering from the 24-track set called "Never Break Heart" is here.

Penned by Church and his go-to collaborator Luke Dick, the four-minute song hones in the concept of overcoming obstacles no matter what challenges arise. The cut, which was teased as part of ACM Presents: Our Country in April 2020, is one of the three songs with the word "heart" in the title that appears on the three-part album. The project was recorded during a month-long marathon in Banner Elk, North Carolina, alongside his longtime producer Jay Joyce, background singer Joanna Cotten, his touring band and various other musicians.

"The best way [reevaluation has] ever worked for me in my career is to get as uncomfortable as you can get. I think the entire thing was everything I had to give," the recent Super Bowl LIV performer said of the recording process to The Tennessean. "There's nothing else — internally — by the time we got to the end of this thing. I was spent. I was like a wrung-out dishrag. That’s where Heart & Soul came from. That was everything we had."

Church's Heart & Soul rollout will see the Heart album drop on April 16. Meanwhile, the & portion will drop April 20 to members of his fan club, with the Soul portion dropping on April 23.

In equally celebratory news, Church recently scored three nominations for the 2021 Academy of Country Music Awards. He is up for Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year and Music Event of the Year for "Does to Me," his collab with Luke Combs. The 56th annual ACM Awards is scheduled to air on April 18 on CBS at 8 PM ET.
