"DWTS" Aims to Begin Production on Season 29 in September Despite Pandemic

Neither coronavirus nor a change in hosts will stop Dancing With the Stars production on its upcoming season in September despite the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. The outlet reports "that it’s possible that the date could be moved around if new issues arise or safety protocols change in Los Angeles, where the show films," and that "not much is known just yet about how season 29 will work." For example, there are questions about whether dancing duos will have to quarantine together or if dancers will have to wear masks when they perform. So far, the only things definitely known about DWTS' next season are that former Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe has signed on as a contestant, while Tyra Banks is replacing Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews as host. Meanwhile, dancing pros Lindsay Arnold and Witney Carson may both sit this season out, as they've both recently announced that they're pregnant.
