Taylor Swift Drops Surprise Album "Folklore" & Video for "Cardigan"

On Friday at midnight, less than 24 hours after announcing it, Taylor Swift dropped her new album Folkore, according to Variety. "In isolation my imagination has run wild and this album is the result," Swift posted on social media. "I’ve told these stories to the best of my ability with all the love, wonder, and whimsy they deserve. Now it’s up to you to pass them down." The contemplative album has 16 tracks; the majority of them were written and produced with The National's Aaron Dessner, but old friend Jack Antonoff also shows up to help on the production side. The lone duet on the album, "Exile," is performed with Bon Iver.Billboard reports that Swift also dropped a video for the song "Cardigan," which she directed herself. "The entire shoot was overseen by a medical inspector, everyone wore masks, stayed away from each other, and I even did my own hair, makeup, and styling," she said. So far, fans are responding favorably. "Well Taylor Swift you did it," tweeted one fan. "You figured out the meaning of life."
