City Official Resigns After Throwing Cat During Public Zoom Meeting

Last week in Vallejo, California, the city's Planning Commission held a public meeting on Zoom. During that meeting,The Times Herald reports that Commissioner Chris Platzer could be seen drinking beer and heard swearing, telling his peers, "I'm going to call bulls**t on you little b**ches." He also said, "I'd like to introduce my cat," before picking the feline up and tossing it offscreen. He wound up resigning after the meeting, writing an email which read, in part, “I did not conduct myself in the Zoom meeting in a manner befitting of a planning commissioner and apologize for any harm I may have inflicted...We are all living in uncertain times and I certainly, like many of you, am adjusting to a new normalcy.”
