The Bachelor Finale, Peter, Hannah Ann, Madison & Mom

On the finale of The Bachelor, the saga of Peter Weber's search for love came to an unsatisfying end. In the first segment, Peter proposed to Hannah Ann, saying, "my heart chooses you forever," which made his mother Barb sob happily. "We love her so much!" she said. However, a month later, Peter was still "struggling" to get over his feelings for Madison. An upset Hannah Ann blasted him, saying he stole her first engagement, before telling him, "We're done--and I mean that. Hannah Ann then said she wanted someone who wasn't "torn and conflicted 90 percent of the time," and accused him of betrayal. "You know you did, don't you." Peter nodded. Back in front of the live studio audience, Hannah Ann told Peter that he didn't respect her enough to tell her he still had feelings for Madison, and that her first red flag with Peter came early in the season, when he said he needed closure with Hannah Brown. "If you want a woman, you need to be a real man," she said. Chris Harrison revealed that he'd gone to Alabama to retrieve Madison, telling her, "in his dream, I think he would be with you." Peter's mom Barb was having none of this and frowned in the studio audience. Peter ultimately said that he and Madison were going to take things day by day. Barb told Chris Harrison, "He has to fail to succeed," adding everyone Peter knows thinks the relationship won't last. “Honestly this is about me and Peter, this is about our journey, this is something just he and I should be talking about,” Madison responded. After that, Harrison moved on, introducing the next Bachelorette, Clare Crawley.
