Uber Passenger Pays Off College Debt for Driver So She Can Get Her Degree

One Uber driver's life was changed when a passenger paid her entire college debt,. Latonya Young had picked up Kevin Esch, and during their conversation she revealed that a bill of about $700 was preventing her from registering for the next semester's classes at Georgia State University. After dropping him off, she was notified that he had paid her bill, allowing her to register and complete her associate degree program. "Literally I was blown away," Young said. "A stranger has never done that--or anything like that--for me."

Esch even attended Young's graduation in December. Young plans to keep going with her education and ultimately wants to be a lawyer.
