A Florida County Found A Great Way To Comfort Shelter Dogs During Fireworks

Do your Dog, not like loud noises, especially Fireworks? What about those same type of dogs, that are in a shelter, waiting to find their "forever home".

For many dogs who have a hard time with loud noises like thunder or fireworks, The Fourth of July holiday is a time of stress and high anxiety. This can especially be true for shelter dogs who have been through quite a lot in their lives and who have to spend those nights in a shelter without a person comforting them during the scary noises.

In Brevard County, Florida, they’ve come up with a great solution. Low risk Inmates, as well as those on work release and others looking to work off their community service hours, will be spending the peak firework hours of the 4th of July with the animals.... playing with them, reading to them, and feeding them treats.

The Brevard County Sheriff's Office announced their planon their Facebook page after a flood of citizens volunteered to come in to comfort the pups.
