Girl Scout Helps Military Veterans on their Visit to Washington D.C

A 12-year-old Girl Scout named Abigail from Las Vegas had a big year selling cookies – and decided to do something special for veterans with all the money she earned.

Abigail learned that some veterans were traveling to Washington, D.C., to visit different war memorials. And, she knew that a number of these veterans are older and having a bit of trouble getting around these days.

In hopes of making their special trip easier, Abigail took $1,200 and purchased eight brand-new wheelchairs to help the veterans out during their trip.

She also asked her classmates to write letters of appreciation to the veterans – and ended up collecting more than 240 notes, which made the event in Washington, D.C., even more special.
