Public Hearing for State Road (SR) 64 and Greyhawk Boulevard/Pope Road
Safety Improvement-Median Modification Project

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One, is hosting a public hearing regarding the interim safety improvement recently made at the intersection of SR 64 and Greyhawk Boulevard/Pope Road. The interim improvement consists of closing the westbound left turn from SR 64 onto Pope Road using temporary devices until construction of the ultimate improvement of a modern roundabout begins. FDOT and Manatee County have advanced the schedule for the roundabout previously set for 2023 to now begin construction in the spring of 2020.
The hearing will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Bayside Community Church, 15800 SR 64, Bradenton, FL 34212.
There will be an open house at 5 p.m. during which staff will be available to discuss the project and answer questions, followed by a formal hearing presentation at 6 p.m., after which participants may provide their verbal comments to all present. People attending the hearing will have the opportunity to review project displays and speak one-on-one with project team members about the proposed safety improvements.
