Veteran Finds Lost Uniform in Antique Store; Shop Owner Gives It to Him

A U.S. Army veteran who came across his own lost uniform in a California antique store was gifted the uniform by the store’s owner.

NBC reports that Xenos Lopez served as a parachute rigger and infantryman from 2004 to 2010, but lost his Army greens when he moved from one part of Bakersfield, California, to another in 2016. He came across the uniform, medals and all, while visiting an antique mall--and store owner Rick Freels immediately realized he was looking at the uniform’s rightful owner.

When Lopez tried to pay for the greens, Freels told him, "No, that's yours. You earned that.”

He plans to add his uniform to a shadow box he's been building to commemorate his time in the military.
