The Hillsborough County Courthouse in Florida is filled with lawyers and judges and other members of the court system ... including a six-year-old dog named Tibet.
The Golden Retriever-Labrador mix has the official title of Courthouse Facility Dog. She has a special gift for knowing when kids who are dealing with those lawyers and judges are scared -- and might need some comfort.
Tibet seems to gravitate toward kids and make sure they feel safe, often by licking them. Tibet's owner, Brenda, has seen how a simple display of affection from Tibet has calmed kids down over and over through the years.
And this year, Tibet was rewarded for her loyal service to kids with the 2018 Pet Hero Award, given by the Florida Veterinary Medical Association.
