SOUTHWEST AIRLINES RESCUES PUPPIES AND KITTENS FROM PUERTO RICO

The people of Puerto Rico are still recovering from the hurricane that caused so much damage last year -- and plenty of groups are doing all they can to help, including Southwest Airlines -- which recently had a plane making a special trip.

The company used one of their Boeing 737s to deliver 14,000 pounds of supplies. And on the return trip, they brought 62 displaced dogs and cats back to Baltimore, where they were put up for adoption.

The rescue effort was made possible by Southwest, as well as Lucky Dog Animal Rescue, in a team effort that took months to put together.

Once the plane arrived in Baltimore and the animals transported to Lucky Dog, most were adopted quickly. It was an amazing ending to an amazing journey for both the crew and the animals involved. (The Dallas Morning News)
