14th Annual Easter Egg Hunt & Games on Siesta Key
When: Saturday, 9-noon
Where: Beach Access Point #5 at Beach Road and Ocean Blvd
What: For $10 each, each child receives an Easter Bunny or Stuffed Toy, Goody Bag and Easter Egg stuffed with prizes. Face painters, opportunities to ride the trolley, tour the Siesta Key ambulance and fire truck and participate in other fun family entertainment during the Easter party. Registration is limited to the first 125 paid children for the egg hunt.

Where: Nokomis Community Center in Nokomis Community Park
What: There's a free Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza hosted by the Nokomis East Homeowner's Association for kids ages 10 and under. It takes place at the Nokomis Community Center in Nokomis Community Park at 10 a.m. No registration is needed. Prizes for all. 234 E. Nippino Trail, Nokomis. Bring a basket.
The Hernando de Soto Historical Society's annual De Soto Heritage Festival Children's Parade
When: Friday, 10am
Where: Manatee County Fairgrounds, 1402 14th Ave. W., Palmetto
What: The route proceeds south on 10th Avenue West from 15th Street West to Fifth Street and ends at Sutton and Lamb parks, where a "Party in the Park" will feature food and activities until 2 p.m.
At nearby Palmetto Historical Park and Manatee County Agricultural Museum, 515 10th Ave. W., activities also will be offered. from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

5th Annual Suncoast BBQ & Bluegrass Bash

What: Check out the 5th Annual Suncoast BBQ & Bluegrass Bash at the Venice Airport Festival Grounds featuring chicken, ribs, pork and beef brisket. This year the event has been chosen by the Florida BBQ Association to be the site of the 2014 Florida State Championships. And the championship cook-off will also act as the qualifying event for the Food Network's Super Bowl of Barbeque contest in Las Vegas. Events open to the public from 10 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. and there will be a $15,000 cook-off contest, live bluegrass and country music, folk dancing, cooking demos, kids park, bagpipe parade with the opening ceremony at 11 a.m. and more. Longboat Key Fine Art Festival

Where: At the Tennis Gardens Stadium
What: The Resort at Longboat Key Club welcomes an elite selection of national artisans to the Longboat Key Fine Art Festival. On display will be the works of 40 artists from 12 states in the mediums of sculpture, painting, jewelry, fiber art, glass, photography, mixed-media and metalwork. At the Tennis Gardens Stadium during the final days of the Sarasota Open Tennis Tournament. Free admission. Come early on Friday afternoon or evening and get a first glimpse.
